Bharathanatyam – An Exposure to Our Traditional Dance

 29 June 2026

As part of our initiative to provide students with meaningful exposure to our rich cultural traditions, Gurukulam has introduced Bharathanatyam sessions conducted by Ms. Viraja and her team on 29th June.

We are delighted that our well-wishers and volunteers, who have always extended their support towards our students, have come forward to introduce them to the beauty and discipline of Bharathanatyam. The sessions help students understand that dance is an art form that can be enjoyed and practised by everyone, without gender bias.

Ms Viraja also shared with the students the importance of regular dance practice and how it can develop discipline, concentration, confidence, coordination and self-expression.

Our students have shown great interest and enthusiasm towards the sessions and have actively participated in the practice. We are happy to see them explore a new art form while gaining an appreciation for our cultural heritage.

At Gurukulam, we believe that education extends beyond academics. Every opportunity to learn, create and experience something new contributes to the holistic development of our children.

We sincerely thank Ms. Viraja and her team, along with our supportive volunteers, for making this initiative possible and for enriching our students' learning experience.

A New Initiative – Bharathanatyam Classes by renowned Viraja & Shyam

 15.06.2026

Our school is delighted to introduce a new cultural initiative with the commencement of Bharathanatyam classes for our students. The first session was successfully conducted on 15th June under the guidance of our dedicated volunteer, Mrs. Viraja.

With her passion for Indian classical dance and commitment to nurturing young talent,      Mrs. Viraja has generously volunteered her time and expertise to introduce students to the rich heritage of Bharathanatyam. The inaugural session witnessed enthusiastic participation, as students eagerly learned the basic movements, postures, and significance of this timeless art form.

We sincerely thank Mrs. Viraja for her generous support and valuable contribution to our school community. We look forward to many more enriching sessions and the wonderful journey of learning that lies ahead for our young dancers.
