KG Excellence Award – A Moment of Pride

We are delighted to share a proud moment for our school as we were honoured with the Kindergarten Excellence Award by AMET University in recognition of our efforts and commitment towards providing meaningful and quality education at the Kindergarten level.

The award was presented during the Educational Networking Meet at AMET University, ECR, Kanathur. The recognition celebrates the collective efforts of our school team in creating a joyful, engaging and nurturing learning environment for our young learners.

Our KG programme focuses on providing children with opportunities to learn through exploration, activities, expression and hands-on experiences, helping them build confidence and develop essential foundational skills.

This achievement is a reflection of the dedication and teamwork of our KG teachers and the entire school community. We sincerely thank AMET University for recognising our efforts and encouraging us to continue striving for excellence in early childhood education.

A proud milestone for our school and an inspiration to keep nurturing young minds with care, creativity and purpose!

Red Day Celebration – KG & Primary

 A vibrant Red Day Celebration was organised for our KG and Primary students on 28th August. The celebration provided a wonderful platform for our young learners to exhibit their talents, creativity and confidence in an age-appropriate and joyful way.

The day was filled with interesting presentations and engaging activities centred around the colour red. One of the highlights of the celebration was the Red Day Parade, where the children enthusiastically participated and showcased their understanding of the theme.

The students also interacted with their teachers and explained about the significance of the day and the colour red. These interactions helped them understand the concept more appropriately while developing their communication skills, confidence and ability to express their thoughts.

It was a delightful day of learning, expression and celebration, creating happy and meaningful memories for our little learners.

Indian Talent Olympiad – Prize Distribution Ceremony

A Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Indian Talent Olympiad was conducted to honour and celebrate the achievements of our students during the academic year 2025–26.

Students who excelled in various categories of the Olympiad were recognised for their dedication, hard work and academic performance. The ceremony provided an opportunity to appreciate their efforts and motivate them to continue striving for excellence.

A special moment of pride for our school was the achievement of Hafiza of Grade I, who secured the State Topper Award in the Indian Talent Olympiad in Math and was honoured with a cash prize of ₹1,000.

The achievement is a testament to Syed Hafiza’s Noor sincere effort and enthusiasm for learning. We congratulate Hafiza and all the achievers and wish them continued success in their academic journey.

Every achievement begins with an effort, and every effort deserves to be celebrated!

KG – Meet the Shapes Activity

A fun and engaging “Meet the Shapes” Activity was conducted for our KG students. The activity introduced the little learners to different shapes in an interesting and interactive way.

The children enthusiastically identified and named common shapes such as circle, square, triangle and rectangle. They also explored the shapes around them and connected their classroom learning with familiar objects from their surroundings.

The activity helped the children develop their observation skills, shape recognition, vocabulary and confidence, while making early mathematical learning enjoyable and meaningful.

It was delightful to see our little learners discover the world of shapes with curiosity, enthusiasm and joyful participation.

KG Board Activity – Learning About Our Body Parts

Our KG students participated in an engaging Board Activity, where they explored and explained the different parts of the human body.

With the help of the board, the children identified and spoke about various body parts such as the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hands and legs. The activity encouraged them to observe, identify and express what they had learned in a simple and enjoyable way.

The hands-on learning experience helped the young learners improve their vocabulary, communication skills, confidence and understanding of their body parts.

It was wonderful to see our little learners actively participate and enjoy learning through observation, interaction and expression.

KG Storytelling Activity – Learning Through Stories

A Storytelling Activity was conducted for our KG students, providing them with a joyful and engaging opportunity to express themselves through stories.

The little ones enthusiastically participated in the activity by listening to and narrating simple stories with confidence and excitement. They used their voice modulation, expressions and gestures to bring their stories to life.

The activity helped the children develop their communication skills, vocabulary, listening ability, imagination and confidence while encouraging them to express their thoughts freely.

It was delightful to see our young learners enjoy the world of stories and discover that learning can be both meaningful and fun.

Eco Club Activity – Planting for a Greener Campus

As part of the Eco Club activities, a sapling plantation programme was conducted on 5th August to create awareness among students about the importance of protecting and nurturing our environment.

Students actively participated in planting a variety of saplings across the school campus. The activity provided them with an opportunity to understand the importance of trees in maintaining a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.

Through this hands-on activity, students were encouraged to develop a sense of responsibility towards nature and contribute to keeping the school campus green, beautiful and eco-friendly.

The initiative reflected the spirit of “Plant Today, Protect Tomorrow”, inspiring our young learners to become responsible environmental stewards.

English Club Activity – Building Confidence Through Conversation

As part of our efforts to strengthen communication skills among our young learners, Gurukulam conducted an English Club activity for the primary students, focusing on basic everyday conversations.

The activity provided children with a friendly and enjoyable environment to listen, speak and interact in English. Students practised simple conversations related to familiar situations such as greeting others, introducing themselves, asking and answering questions, expressing their needs and interacting with their friends.

The sessions were designed to encourage children to speak without hesitation and gradually build confidence in using English in their daily lives. Through pair activities, role play and simple conversational practice, students had opportunities to learn from one another and use the language naturally.

The activity also reinforced the idea that learning a language is a gradual process. Regular practice, encouragement and a supportive environment help children overcome hesitation and become confident communicators.

At Gurukulam, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to express themselves with confidence. Through our English Club initiatives, we aim to make language learning joyful, practical and meaningful, while helping our young learners take their first steps towards effective communication.

Exploring Number Systems and Rational Numbers Through Math Lab Activities

As part of our effort to make Mathematics more interactive, meaningful and enjoyable, Gurukulam conducted a Math Lab Activity on Number Systems and Rational Numbers for the students of Grade VII & VIII.

The activity provided students with an opportunity to explore mathematical concepts through hands-on learning and practical representation. Instead of learning the concepts only through textbooks, students were encouraged to observe, identify, represent and discuss different types of numbers.

Through the activity, students strengthened their understanding of number systems, rational numbers and their representation, while developing greater confidence in working with mathematical concepts.

The hands-on approach encouraged students to think, discuss, reason and arrive at conclusions, making the learning experience more engaging and effective.

At Gurukulam, we believe that Mathematics becomes more meaningful when students are given opportunities to experience concepts beyond the written page. Math Lab activities help transform abstract ideas into concrete learning experiences and encourage students to develop curiosity, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Independence Day Celebration at Gurukulam

Gurukulam celebrated India's Independence Day with a spirit of patriotism, pride and enthusiasm.

The celebration provided our students with an opportunity to remember the sacrifices and contributions of the freedom fighters who played a significant role in India's journey towards independence. Students were encouraged to understand the values of freedom, unity, responsibility and respect for our nation.

The programme included patriotic activities and performances by our students, who participated with great enthusiasm. Through speeches, songs and other presentations, the students expressed their love and respect for the nation.

The occasion also reminded our children that the responsibility of building a better India belongs to every citizen. Education, discipline, compassion, integrity and respect for others are some of the values that can help us contribute positively to society.

At Gurukulam, we believe that celebrations such as Independence Day provide meaningful opportunities for children to connect with our country's history while developing a sense of responsibility, belonging and citizenship.
