Giving thanks can make us happier

21st Dec 2022

Ms Smitha Nair from "I Volunteer" along with volunteers Ms Sherly Thomas, Ms Swetha and Mr Gopinath from "Visa Facilitating Services (VFS)", visited our school and spent time with our children. They helped with part of our note book requirements. Our loving thanks to them.

To make it doubly special - It was Ms Smitha Nair's birthday and she celebrated it at school with our children.

As reported by our teacher:

On 21st December , Tuesday, "I Volunteer" Ms. Smitha Nair along with "VFS" distributed school supplies to the student for the III term. The donation was from VFS, Egmore (Visa Facilitating Services). Volunteers from VFS Ms. Sherly Thomas,    Ms. Swetha and Mr. Gopinath spent time with our children and were chatting about the various facilities that have been enjoyed by the students of Gurukulam.

They have made a note that "Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness and it helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.  Ms. Sherly celebrated her birthday with our school kids and she has shared the happiness by sharing chocolates  with our kids and she has expressed that this was the first Birthday she celebrated with full of happiness.

The reciprocation of the kindness can make us happier and it will nurture good relationship with others. We strongly encourage a habit of sharing at least one gratitude note to our sponsors from our children regularly.

The students as well as the sponsors enjoyed the joy of giving.
