Animal Kingdom Celebration at Gurukulam

 27th July 2023

As written by our teacher:

The primary students of Gurukulam took up the activity to dress up and act like an animal as well as describing its characters, sounds. This activity was conducted on 27th July.

Every animal has its own unique characteristics.  Students described the characters of different animals.  Small participants dressed up like farm animals while the other participants described the various ways the farm animals are helpful to us.

The entire classroom and the stage was transformed into a little animal kingdom. The children wore the costumes of their favourite animal. Celebrating animals life in all its form and being thankful for the way in which animal enrich our lives, it is a great way to help children understand more about the different animals. The celebration indeed created a curiosity among children to find out more about the importance of animals in our lives. The school, by this endeavor tried to develop among children a sense of responsibility and compassion towards animals.

Independence day was celebrated at Gurukulam in a grand manner on 15th August, along with the guests of the day Ms. Suganth Shri and others from MMLC 4.  Programme started with a warm welcome to the guests, teachers, students and the parents.

Our School Pupil Leader Imtiyas invited the guest to hoist the flag, followed by the March-Past done by the house team.  Mass drill performance was done by the pre primary and primary kids.  The Pyramid delivery was an extraordinary performance by our   Students. The Silambam (stick fight) performance of Santhosh and Minash was extraordinary during the event. The dance performance added colour to the celebration.

Our guest of the day Ms. Suganth Shri from MMLC 4 delivered a speech and admired the students enthusiasm and the school spirit.

The celebration  marks the day when the country gained independence from British rule in 1947. This day reminds us of the sacrifices and courage of all the men and women who struggled to free our country from the Britishers. Our students have  paid tribute to those freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the sake of the motherland.

They celebration ended at 10.00 a.m with the National Anthem by our school choir.

People who help us - Fancy Dress Day

 25th Sept 2023

Activity like "people who help us" helps the children to develop their knowledge of the world around them and understand how they are part of a local and wider community. Aspects of this theme can also provide opportunities for children to develop their understanding and the support they render for the society.  This activity has been conducted on 25th September at Gurukulam.

We live in a community, and there are a lot of people who make our lives easy by helping us in our day-to-day lives. Some of these people also help us in emergencies, like when we are sick or when a fire breaks out. Therefore, children must know which person can help them in which situation.

Children dressed up in different costumes and enjoyed the activity.

Industrial visit to Royal Enfield Factory

01st Sept 2023

As reported by  our teacher:

Our Grade XII students got an opportunity to visit the Royal Enfield Factory, located at Sriperumbudur. Industrial visits are usually the first point of interaction between a student and a live working industry. The students learn about the latest technology trend and make up their minds about their future job or area of interest. Our students took this seriously and utilized this industrial visit for learning and enhancing their understanding.

Industrial visits provide students with a chance to meet industry leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and corporates who share their wisdom, learning, and experiences. These interactions are useful to students in their career and help them in developing leadership qualities, management skills, and learn about the industry working. Industry interaction is also helpful in updating the curriculum when there are significant changes in prevalent technologies.

During the industrial visits, the students get an opportunity to experience how professionals live, learn about various management concepts like "Just In Time", "Lean manufacturing" and how they are put into action. It is not easy to manage hundreds of skilled and unskilled workers at the same time and meet the stringent quality norms and production targets of the company. How managers, production engineers, employees work in tandem to achieve a common target is a management lesson in itself.

Students enjoyed the trip and they have been encouraged with some mementos.
