On 21st August 2025, the Grade IX students of Gurukulam engaged in an exciting and educational Science activity focused on the dissection of flowers. The hands-on session aimed to deepen students’ understanding of plant anatomy and reproductive structures, making theoretical concepts come alive through practical experience.
During the activity, students carefully dissected different types of flowers under the guidance of their Science teachers, observing essential parts such as petals, sepals, stamens, pistils, and ovary structures. The interactive session allowed students to identify and label each part, understand their functions, and explore the process of pollination and fertilization.
This practical approach not only strengthened their conceptual knowledge but also fostered critical observation skills, curiosity, and scientific thinking. Students actively discussed their observations and asked insightful questions, making the activity both engaging and intellectually stimulating.
The flower dissection activity was a perfect example of learning by doing, encouraging students to appreciate the intricate details of nature while enhancing their hands-on scientific skills. It reinforced Gurukulam’s commitment to providing a holistic and experiential learning environment for all its learners.
