Diya Ram and Ramkrishnan Mohan visit school

Ramkrishnan Mohan along with his daughter Diya visited school on 16th June 2025.

Ramkrishnan Mohan, based out of USA, has been a tremendous source of support over the years, starting the "Anitha Ram Scholarship" and recently joining us as our Committee Member. Young Diya started the "Diya Ram Pen Pals Programme". (Read more about "Anitha Ram Scholarship" and "Diya Ram Pen Pal Programme")

In Ramki's own words, on his visit:

A Heartwarming Visit to Gurukulam School

Our recent visit to Gurukulam School, hosted by Mrs. Sabita Currimbhoy and the dedicated staff team, was both inspiring and memorable. From the moment we arrived, we felt the warmth of the staff and the enthusiasm of the students.

I had the privilege of speaking with the high school students and was deeply impressed by their determination to complete their education and pursue their career goals. Their focus and commitment were truly uplifting.

It was equally wonderful to spend time with the middle and lower school children. We watched them engage in various extracurricular activities, including yoga, which highlighted the school’s holistic approach to education.

A particularly proud moment for us was reconnecting with Dharini and witnessing her career progress. Meeting her, along with other children we’ve sponsored over the years, reinforced the impact of long-term support and encouragement.

We also shared a delicious, freshly prepared, and healthy lunch at the school — a reminder of how vital it is that these children receive daily nourishment to fuel their learning and growth.

Another highlight was seeing Diya receive her certificate of appreciation. She was delighted, and after meeting the two children in person, she is now more inspired than ever to continue supporting them.

The work being done at Gurukulam is remarkable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute. We remain committed to supporting this important mission in the years ahead.
