Ms. Chetna, Grade XII student of DAV Anna Nagar, conducted a special session on awareness about child abuse. She is an award winner for creating awareness about child abuse from the State Government.
Session was conducted on 10th October, post lunch. It was a good awareness session on child maltreatment. Child abuse or neglect during infancy and early childhood has been shown to negatively affect child development, including brain and cognitive development and can have lasting effects. Abuse and neglect also affect children and youth's social and emotional development.
Learning about abuse can help a person identify abuse if it happens to them. Children who are abused and neglected may suffer immediate physical injuries such as cuts, bruises, or broken bones. They may also have emotional and psychological problems, such as anxiety or stress.
An efficient protection is essential to the child's well-being. As a vulnerable group, they are more exposed to mistreatment, exploitation, discrimination and violence.
She ended the session with awareness on good and bad touch.
We thank her for bringing in good awareness to our children and teachers.
