Story telling sessions

1st Feb 2023.

We at Gurukulam encourage the students to come on to the stage and deliver short stories among their groups to improve the level of communication.  Stories help us to understand others and ourselves. We feel empathy with the characters we encounter in stories. This ability to learn from stories is a skill that will help our students throughout their lives. In addition to academic goals, stories enrich lives and provide guidance to living.

Storytelling allows teachers to enter the lives of students as they're forming a sense of self- identity. It promotes a sense of community and belonging, enables relationship networking, allows participants to engage in sense-making, helps develop empathy and self-confidence, and facilitates learning. It gives us an opportunity to learn from another person's experience and it can shape, strengthen or challenge our opinions and values. When a story catches our attention and engages us, we are more likely to absorb the message and meaning within it than if the same message was presented simply in facts and figures.

The main aim of the session is to encourage the students to discuss and communicate well among the peer group, we encourage the participation of more students and they are being appreciated during the assembly time.
