  1. Dear Vinu, the Reader Breeder programme has evolved into a beautiful tool...

    1. It has made our children want to read books
    2. It has given them an incentive to understand a book by themselves.... and vola our job of educating them just got easier :-)
    3. It has given us another opportunity to reinforce moral values through story telling
    4. When the kids conduct the viva voce, their spoken english and thinking ability is improving..

    GREAT SHOW ;-) :-)

  2. Dear Vinu,
First of all, thanks for this space here for me to share my humble ideas and experiences. And, pls allow me a brief introduction of self. I'm ex-Early Childhood trained teacher but I rather see myself as a facilitator who play, share and assist children in growing, developing and learning. I love storytelling, sharing, and reading.

Storytelling and reading is an important "ritual" in early literacy cultivation from birth, infancy to early adolescence; through storytelling children develop listening, speaking skills and construct sentenses; building concepts eg colour, shapes, problem solving, promotes self-esteem and of course it further enhance their appreciation in reading.

In my classroom storytelling, I had tried hand made puppets, masks and invited children participate in the story play for particular stories. I realised these props and activities does not only serve as a tools for stimulating children's auditory, visual but capture my playful classroom pals' attention, promotes optimal learning retention and their kinesthetic learning modalities too..
