Dec 2025: Prasanna’s journey with Gurukulam is a powerful reminder of how education can transform a child’s life against all odds. 

Having joined Gurukulam in LKG and continuing through to Grade 12, he benefitted from a nurturing environment that combined quality academics, strong values, and consistent support. Today, he has successfully completed his "Marine Engineering Course" with AMET and has secured employment with "Maersk Liners". He will soon be sailing around the world drawing a handsome salary. 

Coming from an economically underprivileged background, Prasanna made the most of every opportunity the school and its supporters provided, steadily growing in confidence, skills, and aspirations. His father, the only breadwinner, drives an auto to support his family. 

His story reflects the core mission of Trust Children—to break the “poverty–manual labour” cycle through education—and stands as an inspiration to younger students and a heartfelt tribute to the generosity of our donors @ trustchildren​

Hands-On Science Learning: Preparation of Barium Chromate

As part of experiential learning in Science, Gurukulam organised a laboratory activity on the preparation of Barium Chromate for students of Grades VII to IX. 

The session aimed to deepen their understanding of chemical reactions through direct observation and hands-on experimentation. Under the guidance of their teachers, students actively performed the experiment while adhering to all safety protocols. 

Observing the formation of Barium Chromate helped them grasp key concepts such as chemical and precipitation reactions and color change, making theoretical learning come alive. The activity sparked curiosity and fostered scientific thinking, reinforcing the value of practical learning in building a strong foundation in science.

Cyber Security Awareness Programme by KPMG

As part of Children’s Day celebrations, Gurukulam collaborated with KPMG to organise an online Cyber Security Awareness Programme on 14th November for students of Grades VIII to XI. 

The interactive session focused on promoting safe and responsible internet use—an essential skill in today’s digital age. Students were highly engaged and gained practical insights into online safety, digital responsibility, and ways to protect their personal information. The initiative proved to be both informative and empowering, equipping our learners with the knowledge to navigate the digital world securely and confidently.

Rainy Day Fun

Gurukulam’s Rainy Day activity on 17th November brought joyful smiles to our KG students, who embraced the season with curiosity and delight. 

The fun-filled session helped children explore the beauty and importance of rain while learning about weather changes and seasonal care. 

With excitement in their eyes, the little ones enjoyed sensory experiences—feeling the raindrops, listening to its rhythm, and engaging in playful learning moments. 

The lively celebration encouraged observation skills, creativity, and active participation among the young learners. A heartfelt appreciation to our KG teachers for thoughtfully planning the activity and making learning a joyful journey, rain or shine!

Turtle Walk Activity: Fun Learning for Our KG Kids

As part of experiential learning, Gurukulam organised a delightful Turtle Walk activity for our KG students on 21st November. 

The engaging session helped children explore balance, coordination, and movement in a playful way as they imitated the slow and steady steps of a turtle. This fun-filled exercise also taught valuable lessons in patience, focus, and body control, making learning both active and enjoyable. 

The campus was filled with laughter and cheerful energy as the little ones participated with enthusiasm. A heartfelt appreciation goes to our KG teachers for thoughtfully planning and conducting the activity, ensuring a safe and meaningful experience for every child.

Family Day Activity as Part of Experiential Learning

Gurukulam’s Family Day celebration brought smiles and warmth as our KG students explored the value of family and the love that binds it together. 

Through fun-filled activities and role presentations, the little ones joyfully learned about family relationships and the importance of parents in their lives. The event was filled with laughter, creativity, and confident performances that truly delighted everyone present. 

A big appreciation goes to our dedicated KG teachers for inspiring and guiding the children with care and enthusiasm. As part of our holistic approach, students also participate in Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) every Friday, enriching their experiential learning and nurturing strong foundational values.

"Train the Trainer" Sessions at Gurukulam

Gurukulam regularly conducts "Train the Trainer" sessions under the Staff Development Programme (SDP) on Saturdays. 

Mr Sathya, our maths teacher and school co-ordinator, conducted a Train the Trainer session on 22nd November, aimed at enhancing teaching skills and classroom effectiveness. 

Mr. Sathya delivered an engaging mock lesson on Pythagoras’ Theorem in Mathematics, highlighting the use of audio-visual tools for better learning outcomes. He also shared practical insights on lesson planning and classroom management. 

The programme provided valuable learning opportunities for primary and newly joined faculty, strengthening their confidence and teaching strategies. Mr. Jesudoss, our new Computer Science teacher, also actively contributed through a presentation as part of the professional development initiative. To ensure continuous growth, weekly presentations have been introduced under the Staff Development Programme (SDP) for ongoing improvement.

National E-Waste Awareness Webinar

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness, Gurukulam participated in a webinar on E-Waste Awareness and Reduction organised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India (DoSEL) on 9th October 2025. 

The session, received through the District Education Officer, Chengalpattu, aimed to educate students on the importance of responsible e-waste management. 

To ensure every learner benefited, the webinar was streamed through our Smart Class system across all classrooms. Students found the session highly informative and later shared their reflections, showcasing a deeper understanding of sustainability and their role in protecting the planet.

A Colorful Diwali Celebration at Our School

Gurukulam joyfully celebrated the Festival of Lights — Diwali on 17th October 2025, filling the campus with colour, laughter, and festive energy. Students showcased their talents through vibrant dances, heartfelt skits, and inspiring speeches that beautifully conveyed the spirit and message of Diwali. The youngest learners captured everyone’s hearts with their delightful performances, spreading joy throughout the celebration. 

The event was a wonderful reminder of the school’s shared values of togetherness, happiness, and cultural pride, creating lasting memories for our Gurukulam family.

Prepared Today, Safe Tomorrow: Fire Safety Drill at Our School

At Gurukulam, student safety is always a top priority. As part of our continued commitment to safety and preparedness, we organised a Fire Safety Drill on 17th October 2025. 

Officers from the Fire Service Department visited our campus to share valuable knowledge about fire prevention, emergency response, and lifesaving techniques. 

Their interactive demonstrations gave students practical experience and built confidence to act wisely in emergencies. We sincerely thank the Fire Service officers for their time, dedication, and guidance in helping our students learn how to stay safe and protect others.

Bebras Readiness Challenge – A Day of Logic, Learning, and Collaboration

Empowering Young Minds through the Bebras Readiness Challenge

On November 22, our school hosted the Bebras Readiness Challenge for students of Grades VII to XI, in collaboration with the talented students of SSN College. 

The session was carefully designed and conducted by the young facilitators, who brought great energy and clarity to each activity. Guided by the leadership of Ms. Ankita Reddy, the programme flowed smoothly, engaging students in problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking. 

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as our students confidently discussed ideas, shared strategies, and tackled challenges together. It was a day that truly reflected the joy of learning—filled with curiosity, collaboration, and inspiration.
