Run for Ridley!

A "Run for Ridley" was organised to bring awareness for the conservation of the Ridley turtles on the Chennai beach.

Mr Janakiraman, President of the Kovalam Panchayat flagged off the race.

Mr Velmurugan and Mr Perumal, Inspector of Police, Kelambakkam was our chief guests along with VBJ proprietor Mr Jithendra. 

 A junior run for about 3 km and a seniors run for about 7km were conducted through the streets of Kovalam. The children carried posters and distributed pamphlets during the run on the conservation of the Ridley Turtles to the villagers.

Ms. Veena and Prithviraj of Beach Wolves Adventures participated in the run by having a stall supplying water and tokens to the runners.

1.      Today we conducted RUN for RIDLY programme. The programme coordinator was Mr. Venkatesan PT Master and Mr. Rajeev Principal. This function chief guest was VBJ Proprietor and his wife, Mr. Janaki Raman Panchayat president of Kovalam, Mr. Velmurugan and Mr. Perumal  – Inspector of Police Kelambakkam.

2.      The Run for Ridly programme started with our school prayer song.  Welcome addresses by Mrs. Subha. 

3.      This SAVE TURTLES   awareness programme was held for fours houses boys and Girls.

4.      This competition was done House-wise, Junior and Senior Boys and girls. Mrs. Sabita Mam and Our Principal Mr. Rajeev also presented.

5.       The junior race flag off was by  Mr. Janaki Raman Panchayat president of Kovalam

6.      The Senior Race Flag off was by Mr. Velmurugan and Mr. Perumal – Inspector of Police Kelambakkam

7.      Medals and certificate were distributed those who students in first five Places in both junior and Senior Boys and Girls by VBJ proprietor and Mr. Perumal – Inspector of Police Kelambakkam.

8.      Our Principal Spoke on Conservation of Bio- Diversity and How to save Turtles through future generations.  

9.      Finally this function ended with a Vote of thanks by Mr. Rajiv, Principal.

10.  Breakfast was arranged for all the guests.


11.  This programme very useful and brought in awareness to Staff, students and the society.
