On 19th July 2025, the Grade VII students of Gurukulam took part in an exciting and insightful Science activity on the topic of Density, aimed at helping them understand one of the fundamental principles of physics through real-life experimentation.
During the session, students explored how different substances have varying densities and how this property determines whether an object floats or sinks in water. Using simple materials like water, oil, and small solid objects, students conducted hands-on experiments to observe and compare the densities of various materials.
The activity allowed students to measure, record, and analyze their observations, promoting curiosity and scientific reasoning. Through these practical demonstrations, they learned how density plays a vital role in everyday life — from the floating of ships to the layering of liquids.
This experiential learning activity encouraged critical thinking, observation, and teamwork, while making the abstract concept of density easy to understand and visually engaging.
The Density Activity was yet another example of Gurukulam’s commitment to learning through experimentation, inspiring students to explore science beyond textbooks and discover the wonders of the world through hands-on experiences.
